in one of the lagoon's most enchanting islands, used as a hospital site since the beginning of the 18th century and later specialising in the treatment of mental disorders. After 1978 and approval of Italian law no. 180, San Servolo was no longer used as a mental hospital and has been reclaimed as a space for culture, training and research. A recent initiative has brought a group of artists to the island, invited to illustrate the theme of madness. Brought together in a special exhibition, the works are displayed to the public. |
